This edited book of abstracts encompasses 64 contributions which were presented in a three-day long National Seminar on Forest-Dependent Rural Livelihoods held during February 24-26, 2023 at the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. The contributions cover both the socioecological aspect of rural livelihoods and the legal aspect of accessing forest resources, especially after the enactment of the Forest Rights Act in 2006 by the Government of India.
 
The book is recommended for reference to the libraries and for personal possession to all those interested in understanding the depletion of the resource base and the difficulties of the rural people in accessing the resources.
