The Botanical Survey of India resolved to bring out an updated "Flora of India" in a series comprising 32 volumes to replace the seven volumes of the monumental "The Flora of British India" by J.D. Hooker and his collaborators. The BSI Series of Flora of India follows the system of classification laid down by Bentham and Hooker (1862-1883). Volume 1 includes Ranunculaceae, Circaeastraceae, Paeoniaceae, Dilleniaceae, Magnoliaceae, Illiciaceae, Schisandraceae, Tetracentraceae, Eupteleaceae, Annonaceae, Menispermaceae, Berberidaceae, Podophyllaceae, Lardizabalaceae, Nymphaeaceae, Cabombaceae, Nelumbonaceae, and Barclayaceae.
This handbook is recommended for reference to the libraries and personal possession of postgraduate students, research scholars, and scientists of plant taxonomy, botany, forestry, biotechnology, agriculture, horticulture, environment, and the scientists exploring the flora of India.
